Job Overview
The Learning and Insights analyst will turn data into meaning. Taking rich data and information from Amahoro Coalition’s evidence base, the L&I officer will answer the question “so what” – leading to new insights for the organization, our donors, and our private-sector partners. It requires someone who is deeply curious about the reason behind data – combining both analytical and communication skills to convey new knowledge to a variety of audiences with a variety of interests.
Key Responsibilities
1. Learning & Insights Generation:
- Develop and maintain a learning agenda for each program, identifying key questions and evidence gaps to be addressed
- Conduct analysis of program data to identify patterns, success factors, and challenges – use this information to help the program team and our investors understand how we can amend for greater social impact.
- Design and facilitate structured learning processes including after-action reviews, program reflection sessions, and lessons-learned workshops for internal teams,
- Create actionable learning briefs, insight notes, case studies, and evidence summaries for internal and external audiences – with a focus on bringing new knowledge for social change.
2. Analytics and Data Intelligence:
- Conduct quantitative analysis of fellowship and partnerships programme to surface trends in enterprise performance, job creation, investment leverage, and other key outcome areas
- Develop data visualizations, summary tables, and analytical outputs that translate complex programme data into clear evidence for internal decision-making and donor reporting
- Support the design and analysis of surveys, baseline assessments, and endline evaluations, applying appropriate statistical methods to ensure rigor and reliability
- Refine Amahoro’s MEL frameworks and results measurement tools, ensuring alignment between data collected and strategic learning priorities
- Identify data quality issues, gaps in coverage, and inconsistencies, recommending and implementing corrective measures.
3. Research and Knowledge Management:
- Conduct desk research and literature reviews to contextualize program findings within industry, and monitory industry evidence developments relevant to the Coalition’s work.
- Support the development and maintenance of an organizational knowledge management system, including a centralized repository of program evidence, tools, and learning products
- Identify and recommend opportunities for collaborative research with academic and development partners, and facilitate the implementation of those projects.
Qualifications and Skills
We are looking for someone who is ambitious, analytically rigorous, and genuinely motivated by the intersection of enterprise development and social impact.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Public Policy, or a related field. A Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience of up to 3-5 years in an analytical role in any field of social impact.
- Strong knowledge of analysis methodologies, research hypothesis development and user-centered design and testing.
- Strong written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to produce high-quality learning briefs, case studies, donor reports, and evidence summaries.
Preferred
- Experience in knowledge management, organizational learning, or adaptive management processes is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with displacement, refugee, or fragile-context programming is a significant advantage.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across different program functions, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to facilitate learning sessions, build relationships across teams, and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and partners.
