Job Title: Strategy Developer – Technical Partnerships
Reports to: Strategy Custodian – Partnerships
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Department: Partnerships
About Amahoro Coalition
The Amahoro Coalition is an African-led initiative that mobilises the private sector to create economic opportunities for forcibly displaced persons (FDPs) across the continent. We work at the intersection of business and impact; designing market-based solutions that generate real economic outcomes for refugees and internally displaced populations while creating value for the companies and institutions we partner with.
We are a lean, high-output team. The work is complex, fast-moving, and consequential. We are growing our partnership’s function and looking for a technical builder to help us do more of it.
About the Role
You will own your own workstreams from end to end — designing programs, structuring deals, building the analytical scaffolding that makes partnerships credible and defensible, and executing on all of it to ensure programs can be operationalized. Your work will span geographies and sectors across the continent, following the pipeline wherever it leads.
This role sits within the partnerships team and reports to the Head of Partnerships. You will work closely with senior leadership on partner engagements, providing the technical depth and written output that brings Amahoro’s proposals and programs to life.
What You’ll Do
1. Program & Strategy Design:
- Design economic integration programs from scratch, tailored to the operating realities of partners and the needs of displaced populations
- Develop frameworks and implementation blueprints that are technically rigorous and practically executable
- Conduct landscape and opportunity assessments to identify where Amahoro should play and how, including stakeholder mapping, value chain analysis, and market sizing
- Build the program logic that underpins each partnership, ensuring there is a credible pathway from intervention to measurable economic outcome
2. Fundraising Support:
- Support the development of funding proposals and investment cases targeting DFIs, foundations, and development donors
- Build financial models, cost-per-outcome analyses, and fundraising narratives that position Amahoro’s partnerships for capital mobilisation
- Identify and map relevant funding opportunities and translate them into actionable proposals
3. Pipeline Development & Partner Support:
- Build and manage your own pipeline of partnership opportunities — identifying prospects, developing proposals, and advancing conversations from first engagement to agreement
- Support the Head of Partnerships in senior partner engagements by providing technical depth, background analysis, and written materials
- Engage directly with private sector partners, financial institutions, and implementing organisations to scope, design, and structure interventions
4. Partner Materials & Communications:
- Develop high-quality partner-facing materials (e.g. proposals, concept notes, pitch decks, one-pagers, and MOU frameworks) that are ready for senior-level engagement
- Contribute to reports, board materials, and external communications that capture partnership progress and outcomes
- Support content building where required, including articles, sector analyses, and thought leadership pieces, to amplify Amahoro’s positioning in relevant markets
What We’re Looking For
We care more about what you can do than how long you’ve been doing it. That said, there are a set of capabilities and qualities that are non-negotiable for this role.

- Ability to work independently, manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, and deliver without close supervision

Strongly Valued
- Experience designing or implementing programs bridging donor ecosystems and the private sector
- Background in blended finance, development finance, or impact investment
- Familiarity with donor ecosystems
- Knowledge of agricultural value chains, financial inclusion models, or workforce development systems in sub-Saharan Africa
